'4 - 5 - 6 Weeks Sisterlocks Retightenings. A fixed, reparted and parted and parted Grid Line, No oil. No water. No washing your locs till retight day. Tightness, snagging, tugging and pulling. Scalp feels painful to touch. Pain, pain MORE PAIN! Even if you grow the densest of African Textured Hair, what do you think the long term result will be Dear Sisterlocks Wearer?'

Melissa Blake
You Are KNot Alone.
What's your current Locs Story?
This morning I spotted this Microlocs Rant.

100% I can relate.
As an experienced Small Size Locs Specialist Consultant, I recognised that my thought process about retightenings would birth further resentment with the nature of my hair.
My attitude to retightenings, led to increasingly negative thoughts about the process of me doing my locks, therefore forming a negative relationship with my hair.
This is many of our Sisterlocks / Microlocs experiences leading to not listening to what our hair needs or wants, which long term leads to impatient pulling and tugging stuck in our heads thinking how tedious retightenings are while trying to get to the end of our long and torturous 6 weekly DIY sessions based on my past Sisterlocks practice and before that, our bad hair style practices all based on controlling and neatening our African Textured Strands.
When our strands don’t comply, we keep pulling and tugging TIGHTER & tighter leading to long term self inflicted follicle death and therefore balding. This is what our disassociation with our African textured hair leads to and ignoring it’s cry for an alternative way to relock our Sisterlocks or microlocks leads to the death of our follicles, which leads to the bald patches. Below where our bald patches lie dormant follicles, maybe we can resurrect some and save and it’s not too late for you. Thankfully I saved mine with my Knotted Locs Practice.
I saw this 2 days ago.

‘What’s the shot?' I asked hoping she didn’t mind answering. Thankfully she was kind enough to share.

As Google is my best friend, never hearing this name before I took time out to research corticosteroid.

Are steroid injections necessary for Sisterlocks and Microlocs wearers experiencing hair loss?
After she has received injections to her head she continues with her frequent retightenings.
Does this make sense to you?
