Over 20 years ago, I began my own loc journey with Sisterlocks. At the time, I followed everything I was taught neat grids, regular maintenance, tight precision.
But what I experienced was something many women silently go through:
Increasingly intense PAIN during
retightenings focused in my crown area.
FLATTENED, weakened locs
THINNING edges
HAIR LOSS , especially in my crown
And I remember thinking… 'this can’t be the only way.'
So I started asking questions. I researched but there was no alternative technique being talked about. I experimented first on my own hair, then consequently with my clients back then Sisterlocks Microlocs heads.
Today, my hair has fully recovered. It’s fuller, healthier, and well hydrated. And more importantly, it feels like mine again. It belongs to me not a locks system regime that branded my hair 'not good enough' because it didn't want to be neat holding a damaging grid pattern.
That journey is what led me to create Knotted Locs. It's for you to live a life of ease right at the beginning of your Small Size Locs journey.

No over-manipulation.
No forcing your hair into unnatural patterns of partings.
Instead, I allow your hair to *breathe*, to grow, and to respond naturally to where it is at. Simply, letting it be.

What Makes Knotted Locs Different?
I don’t rely on one method.
I use a fusion of knotting and interlocking, placing precise knots along your regrowth and only interlocking when absolutely necessary.
Why does this matter?
Because it allows for:
Maximum fullness – your locs don’t collapse or thin out.
Better hydration – your hair can actually continually absorb moisture.
Optimal hygiene – you can wash your hair whenever you want.
Less frequent re-locking – your hair isn’t constantly disturbed.
This is where the shift happens.
You move from maintaining your hair…to simply living with it.
Let’s Talk About Grids (Honestly)
I don’t maintain strict grid lines.
And I know that might go against everything you’ve been told but the grid is meant to be a secret, they are pointers to help consultants place a loc - like cross stitching. Follow a pattern BUT for hair this is a terrible idea!
Here is the truth:
Your hair doesn’t grow in perfect squares.
Your strands have their own density, direction, and personality.
So sometimes, I change original sizing.
I adjust & I respond in order to maintain maximum locs fullness.
Because my focus is not neatness for the sake of appearance.
My focus is:
healthy, full, sustainable small size locs.

I work by observing:
Your scalp.
Your current strand type.
Your current loc behaviour.
I leave space at the base of each loc to reduce tension and protect your follicles. This helps minimise the risk of hair loss and supports long-term growth.
I also work on freshly shampooed, wet locs using a blend of essential oils (always tailored and PLEASE Remember let me know if you have any allergies).
Everything I do is intentional.

When starting your journey, preparation matters.
I’ll ask you to send a short video of your hair so I can:
Observe your length.
Understand your density.
Recommend the best loc size for your strands.
Your hair should be:
Natural (no heat).
Uncut.
At a workable length (this helps me knot along the strands effectively).
From there, we begin the process patiently, carefully, and with a clear intention.
The Finished KNOTTED LOCS Look
When your Knotted Locs are complete, you can expect:
No grid.
No fixed parting lines.
No extensions.
Short Small, full-bodied locs. Fine, loose coily ends..
A natural, close-to-the-scalp finish.
