'Help! My Sisterlocks is Thinning is this normal?'
This is unhealthy and a warning. Your strands have become weakened and are allergic to your chosen method of interlocking / retightenings. You need to STOP.
My Name Is Melissa Blake and I am the Creator of #KnottedLocs
#iKnotLocks because African Hair Loves Water. 100% Small Size Locs gives our locs elasticity, strengthens and therefore we gain sustainable maximum locs fullness.
I simply knot small size locs to eliminate unravelling, enabling clients to interact with water as often as they choose to, which instantly means better locs care hygiene. Keeping your pores clean enabling scalps to better breathe. Therefore strengthening follicles, leading to stronger healthier strands and locs.
With increased interaction with water, it is important that my clients' #smallsizelocs #Sisterlocks #microlocs #braidlocs stay locked up with zero risk of unravelling.
Knotted Locs gives you all of the above. An added bonus apart from gaining sustainable maximum fullness, is your Knotted Locs is created to reduce the number of times you re-lock your #smallsizelocks through the year.
Reducing the amount of times our curl strands are pulled and tugged will add more density to your Small Size Locs, (#Sisterlocks or #braidlocs #microLocks) hair experience.
With #KnottedLocs your small size locs is re-locked 4 Times A Year. 1. Summer 2. Autumn 3. Winter and 4. Spring or even less, some of my clients enjoy living with their growth and therefore re-locks 2 or 3 times a year.
Choose #KNOTTEDLOCS it's the healthiest small size locs!
My experience covers a total of 18 years+ living and work with Small Size Locs experience, from wearing Sisterlocks where it all began for me learning about what mostly my hair & scalp doesn't like (i.e pain, no oil, tight pulling) to what it loves (water, oil, loosen re-locking).
My job is to explore the fact that, receding hair lines due to weak edges, bald patches, exposed crown areas due to our hair and locs care choices means that hair loss is on the rise and more so, amongst younger African Textured Hair girls especially, why is this? I believe there are 2 main reasons firstly questioning, hiding, and confusing our identity with fears nurtured by those in parental, mentoring or guardian roles. The result, is we work towards changing, covering and hiding our African Textured Hair on a daily basis.
The second reason is hair styles including extensions, sisterlocks and loose natural hair styles are not practical therefore sustainable, neither satisfying or self empowering for countless young women. They continue bad practices into their adult lives becoming the fearful mentor, guardian or parent who endorsed the same repetitive bad hair practices.
Knotted Locs breaks this cycle.
