'Sisterlocks Bald Patches & Uprooted Follicles doesn't have to be your story, neither should you be taking medication to save your Sisterlocks. There is a much safer, less painful option to maintain your Sisterlocks. Melissa Blake's Knotted Locs Hair Locking Method. '
My name is Melissa Blake the Creator of Knotted Locs, this share will save you from losing all hope with your thinning, slowly disappearing Sisterlocks.
I used to have Sisterlocks, receding hair lines, exposed and uprooted follicles and bald patches. I kept apologising to my clients during their retightening appointments, designed for speed as I was taught during my Sisterlocks certification then 3 day course in 2011 to carry on pulling through each lock, even when stuck, until each lock was tightened to the scalp pulling everything strand in TIGHT.
This explains the white follicle roots my Sisterlocks clients' heads were riddled with when they turned up 6 weeks later for their appointments. White follicle heads just kept showing up close to the scalp and they just didn't STOP!
That lost feeling you are feeling, I felt it. Interlocking / retightening seemed the only hair locking option for Small Size Locs Wearers but it was not sustainable for me, retightenings made me uneasy seeing the damage Sisterlocks practice was causing.
I kept thinking of the countless private Sisterlocks bald patches and receding hair lines and flat crown areas, exposed scalps being sent to me asking me, 'Is this normal?'
Flat, exposed crown area scalps and bald patches are being normalised. Pain, overstretched, thinning locs, all considered part of the Sisterlocks experience.
Desperate for my already low density hair with vulnerable strands and soft unravelling strands refusing to settle into locking after 7 years of interlocking, which I understood to be backward braiding.
Knotted Locs was created.
If you are wandering what is the purpose behind Knotted Locs?
Here is the answer!
#KnottedLocs exists for peace of mind, for the busy
people who want to worry less about their Sisterlocks looking thinner and thinner. For those who do not have time to sit in a Consultants chair every 6 weeks experiencing an interlocking tool that continually pulls again their follicles to create a backwards braid or plaited based finish to their locks, only to eventually become tubed knots 2 months later. Neither do they want gels or waxes or products that weigh on their strands or block their pores to create an eventual knot to form a loc.
Be ware if you have new recovering strands coming through, they need that are kept uncluttered, which means Washed and clean scalp. They need to be wet and hydrated often, oiled a little to help keep moisture locked in for longer.
What they can't be is dry, unhygienic (washed ever 6 weeks) and they need should not be interlocked for the next 3 6 weeks appointment.
The reason why my practicing method method of cultivating Small to Medium Size Locs is not encouraged is fear of unravelling. Many Consultants practicing Sisterlocks or Microlocs do not understand African Textured Hair. Their advice is based on fear, being afraid your strands won't lock up has cause a huge amount of hair loss and damage breaking strands, weakening follicle roots because healthy elasticity of strands is avoided for fear of locs unravelling.
All of these unfounded fear based myths dispelled when you practice Knotted Locs.
Here's what a Learner thinks about her learning Knotted Locs.
Why Knots?
Knotted Locs works with with your African Textured Hair, it does not work against it with the Sisterlocks pulling and tugging method.
Knotted Locs is gentle, kinder more considerate to the characteristics of your strands, it is adaptable to no cost to your follicles.
Knotted Locs creates knots instantly, the effect is each lock feels firm and mature, which means clients are free to wet their locks, as and when they choose from the day of re-locking.
You too can have this experience with Knotted Locs. Once you experience Knotted Locs whether it via my Online Teaching Session or with you sitting in my chair, you can have oil and water in your hair from day one and washing your hair weekly will become your norm. Painfree sustainable maximum density will be yours for a lifetime.
